Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib

Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib is the birthplace of the Khalsa, situated at the foothills of Shivalik hills on the banks of Sutlej river. When the Ranjit Nagara (the drum of victory in battlefield) sounded from this holy place, the tyrants and barbarous used to be afraid and the common people bowed their heads while feeling protected.

Dashmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji made the land of Guru Kanshi, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib sacred by visiting here for the first time in 1705 AD after the siege of Sri Anandpur Sahib, battles of Chamkaur Sahib and Sri Muktsar Sahib. The place where Guru Sahib Ji first opened his kamar-kasa (piece of cloth tied around waist by Khalsa) and took Dam (temporary rest), became popular by the name of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib.
