Amritsar, April 9:
On the occasion of Gurta Gadi Diwa of the Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib, the seventh Guru, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) conducted a Gurmat Samagam at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall of Sri Darbar Sahib.
In this connection, after the bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, hazuri raagi jatha of Bhai Simarpreet Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib, connected the sangat with Gurbani and Bhai Rajdeep Singh offered Ardas.
On this occasion the kathawachak of Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Bhai Harmitar Singh introduced the life history of Sri Guru Har Rai Sahib to the sangat. He congratulated the sangat on Guru Ji’s Gurta Gaddi Diwas and encouraged them to adopt teachings of Gurbani and traditional Sikh attire.
Meanwhile, SGPC additional secretary S. Sukhdev Singh Bhurakohna said that the life of Guru Har Rai Sahib Ji is a source of inspiration for promoting the natural environment, from which we should strive to create greenery in our surroundings. He said that for a long time now Guru Sahib Ji's Gurta Gadi Diwas has been celebrated by the SGPC as Environment Day.
On this occasion Guru Ji is remembered by planting saplings in various Gurdwaras. On this occasion, the officials of the SGPC also planted saplings at Guru Ka Bagh near Sri Darbar Sahib.
On this occasion the SGPC assistant secretary S. Kulwinder Singh Ramdas, S. Sakatar Singh, S. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, S. Sukhbir Singh, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, manager Baghel Singh, S. Jagtar Singh, S. Gurjit Singh and the sangat were present.
