Amritsar, April 12: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur congratulated the sangat on the occasion of the Khalsa Sajna Diwas and conveyed the message of “Qaumi Ekta” (unity among the community) to the entire Sikh community.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said, “Dasam Patshah Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji created the Khalsa Panth and freed humanity from slavery and showed the way to live with dignity. In 1699 AD, Guru Ji by forming the Khalsa Panth at Sri Anandpur Sahib on the day of Baisakhi marked a unique chapter in the history of the world. The formation of the Khalsa Panth created an unparalleled revolution against oppression and upheld human freedom and social equality.”
SGPC president appealed to the entire sangat to get initiated (take Amrit) while adopting of Bani and Baana (Gurbani and traditional Sikh attire) on the occasion of Khalsa Panth Sajna Diwas and said that we should raise our voice against social evils following the teachings of Gurus.
SGPC President said that the founding day of Khalsa Panth is being celebrated with Khalsa’s grandeur at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo and Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib Sri Amritsar. She also appealed to the sangat to follow the instructions of the health department during the ongoing functions.
