Amritsar, April 30:
Stopping the Panthic personalities from offering homage and respect on the occasion of 400th Parkash Purb (birth anniversary) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib is unfortunate.
This was said by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur, who said, “The centenary events related to the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Guru are being celebrated in a symbolic manner and no big gathering is being done.”
She said that we had already appealed to the Punjab chief minister to relax the lockdown on this historic day.
“As per the information that we have received, the administration is attempting to stop the Panthic party Shiromani Akal Dal’s president Sukhbir Singh Badal from coming to the events, which is not correct. The Panthic personalities who want to offer homage and respect to Guru Sahib, by attending the events related to the 400th Parkash Purb, they should not be stopped”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
“How can this be possible that the Sikhs would not offer homage and respect to Guru Sahib, on this sacred day? Stopping Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal from attending the event will not be tolerated”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
