Amritsar, March 8:
A special religious programme (Gurmat Samagam) dedicated to the centenary of Saka Sri Nankana Sahib was organised at Gurdwara Shaheed Bhai Karam Singh situated at Sultanwind Road in Amritsar.
The programme was held on the instructions of Giani Harpreet Singh, Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Giani Balwinder Singh, granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta, former senior vice-president of SGPC, S. Talbir Singh Gill, S. Gurpartap Singh Tikka and other prominent personalities attended and shared Gurmat views with the gathering at gurdwara.
Giani Balwinder Singh while discussing the history said that the martyrs who were martyred during Saka Nankana Sahib are the assets of the Sikh qaum (community), guidance should be taken from their lives and efforts should be made for the betterment of the Sikh community. Giani Balwinder Singh said that it was very important to connect the present generation with the glorious history of the Sikhs and for this purpose all Gurdwara committees should organize such events.
On this occasion Bhai Rajinder Singh Mehta also shared the history of Saka Nankana Sahib with the congregation.
During the function, the raagi jatha present at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib connected the sangat with Gurbani Kirtan.
On this occasion the president of Gurdwara committee S. Tarlochan Singh, S. Ajitpal Singh Sheni, S. Tejinder Singh, preacher Bhai Tarsem Singh, S. Jatinder Singh Lali and others were present.
